Call for Papers
The 2nd Workshop on Light Fields for Computer Vision (LF4CV) in conjunction with CVPR 2017.
July 26, 2017, Honolulu, Hawaii, USA
Overview
Two years have passed since the first workshop on Light Fields for Computer Vision at ECCV 2014, during which the field has advanced substantially. There have been breakthroughs in the differential theory of light fields allowing to better analyze non-Lambertian scenes, occlusion handling, multiple layer separation, saliency detection, tracking, material classification, and many more application areas. In particular, 3D reconstruction using light field data has made tremendous progress in accuracy and robustness.
For our second workshop, we are soliciting original contributions using light field acquisition devices and post-processing algorithms for resolving traditionally challenging computer vision problems. Specific topics include, but are not limited, to:
- Light field based modeling and scene reconstruction
- Descriptors and features for light fields
- Object detection and recognition in light fields
- Light field compression and rendering
- Light field sensors
- Light field data sets and evaluation methods
Challenge
In addition to full papers, we invite submissions to a depth estimation challenge for 4D light fields. You can submit an extended abstract of an already existing method or participate with a submitted full paper, the prerequisite being that you have evaluated on the recent benchmark. More details can be found here. Outstanding participants will win prices and will be given the opportunity to present their method at the workshop.
Submission information
Papers must be formatted according to the CVPR 2017 author guidelines and should not exceed 12 pages. For each paper, there will be a double-blind review by two members of the LF4CV program committee. Acceptance will be based on relevance to the workshop, novelty, and technical quality. In submitting a manuscript to this workshop, the authors acknowledge that no paper substantially similar in content has been submitted to another workshop or conference during the review period.
